Wend your way through me, with a call from my father and the fear you leave. Set me wandering, In the blush of the morning and the weight to keep some thought of longing, waiting for the sun. You can keep and shelter. If I could have known, Would I bend? To get you back from the side of my head, and I never thought to wonder if I'd thank god that this is my picture, thank god you said whatever's on your mind. Were you more to me than the lake, and the harbor and the tallest trees? Thoughts we wouldn’t speak, spool on the table and slips beneath. You kept me longing, waiting for the sun. You had me waiting, upwards. You said as though I was gone. By the time you said it, I wait until the dawn. The lake bowed down by the weight of your love and rushed out into the corners of the rooms packed with all our pictures, please god you wait in the flood. Thank god for all this fiction. Thank god you needed my song. Thank god, another one, another one, tell me know now you got, you wanted when you’re gone. Send me back from the side of my head, and I never thought to wonder if I'd thank god that this is my picture, and thank god you said whatever's on your mind.

When we first left, I tried to speak. Cause when we’re home we both pretend to sleep. I can’t recall colder skies, driving her back through that night She’s catching her breath She tells me now: “We’re quiet, so I wanna go home.” I’m holding my breath to keep her now, but she has gotta know, i gotta stop biding time just to say. Don’t bite your lip in restraint. You and my friends, a glass of wine spilling your heart like I don’t mind. I’m holding my breath To hear you now say what you should’ve when we were alone. I’m catching my breath to keep it down I gotta find the words I gotta stop biding time just to say. Don’t bite your lip in restraint. You slur your lines just to blame, oh and I know it all just sounds the same. All the things that I can replace. Oh and if you want me to change I’d have given you a go. Been waiting up through the days, follow through when you will. I’ve been waking to the sun, I break into a run, I’m telling everyone, I’ll call it. I’ve been waking to the sun, I break into a run, I’m telling everyone, I’ll call it now. you got you got you got me now. you got you got you got me now.

That night the sun sank down and passed through the trees, the streets all drifted shut, and kept you with me. With the dim of the sun, You’re giving us up. The banks rising above covered the sill. She asks if she should stay. And since every word fell quiet and still, she says she will. The end of us delayed, and fell to the ground. Weathered by the storm and softened by doubt. With the dim of the sun, You’re keeping me up. My love, carried away, dressed by the storm her lantern turned away. She’s swallowed by night and feathers of rain, until the sun breaks. Years flit by in a day. But I still have you today. You dressed in white, and I followed you out through the door. Our backs to the wind, and my eyes cast down in the storm. Oh, my love, she settles down. My love. My love, she settles down.

I know, in the sight of my plans with the wake of you, in another one’s hands We could sink back If it isn’t too much Where we won’t find out And just call it enough Those nights when I couldn’t sleep I’d slip beneath the floorboards and I’d step into the sea Where I could sink down and I hope you know You’re the wake of love In my river of sun I’ll climb over Just to breath I back down Stay late on an empty street In the reminder that you’ve been a little of me for more than I could ever have known When you speak of love And just call it enough Cross back and return with me up the drive overgrown with sycamore trees where we had set down and I always had known You’re my wake of love in a river of sun I’ll climb over If you reach Lie back down You’re still just a little of me You’re the tallest of grass and the highest of trees And if I thank god That I ever had known you as the wake of love In my river of sun And the shade of blood In my river of sun When I turns through love In a river of sun
